It depends on your attitude and what you want to convey!
The woman in Florida who wanted to get a drivers license but refused to take off the hijab or face covering was inviting scrutiny so she would, or anyone life her operating within a secular society. If you do not want to adapt to the host country, it is within one's right to go back to your place of origin.
No one was prevening the woman from praising her All Knowing One but when it comes to the rules of law, then you follow them.
You want to take a holy day off like Eid, Ramadan, etc and you that religious with the insistance of union with the One, then take a personal day if it does not follow the usual calendar of other religions. Simple as that!
