I was interested to see that the homicides in Trinidad had reached a 500+ figure for the year. I live in Caracas and we have just been allocated the dubious title of "Homicide Capital of the World". In December 2008 the official figure was 510 (that's just December). This "official" figure does not include crimes of passion or murders where one person is retaliating against some wrong-doing.
I am particularly interested in the January 2008 incident involving Paul Salandy (I only heard about it today) as I knew this shady character when he lived in Caracas.
