Last month, I may have glimpsed the Washington region's future -- I spent five days in sprawling, traffic-choked Los Angeles.
Cali real estate is very interesting. I'm talking about most prime areas are subject to earthquake and fires. If neither of those send you away then there is the high taxes. Prices out there are still high based on what I saw. If you are looking at being a first time home owner life must be really tough to get started.

This is the real reason I try to stay away from the coasts because of the higher costs of living and the higher taxes that one has to pay for real estate. I think that the Washington DC area can learn a lot from the LA area. Maybe they can take steps now to make the area more user friendly.
Its all based on what you do. Hollywood and the dream of fame brings a lot of hopeful actors into the state thus real estate is in high demand. Not just houses for sale but rent too.
