I have not used any third party inks. I normally buy the replacement cartridges. I feel that I am getting what I paid for that way. I am not sure if I want to buy a refilled cartridge.

I have heard of this happening and that is one reason I do not want to buy the off brands or the refilled. I have found that printers are getting to be disposable. You can buy a cheap printer for less than some of the refills. Just place the printer at the second hand store.

Sending in the old cartridges to get the new ones is more hassle than it is worth. If the quality is compromised that is one more reason just to keep purchasing my ink cartridges at Costco. I get a substantial savings and know I am getting quality ink for my printer.
