So Many Mormons

I was noticing that there are many forums here with mormon topics and a lot of mormons participating. Is there a particular reason for this on an international site?

What does this being an international site have to do with anything? There are "Mormons" and other religions all over the world. It seems appropriate to me. As for why there seems to be such a high proportion of "Mormon" participation on this forum it is probably because of the high quality of moderation. The crap and vulgarities found on other forums is not found nor tolerated here. One can have an intelligent discussion without all the flaming and derogatory, mindless prattle you find on so many web forums. Occasionally some basher will slip through but is quashed before bringing too much negativity into the mix.
It is refreshing to be able to discuss just about anything in a mature manner without having to filter out the constant cussing and sexual innuendo that is so prevalent throughout the internet.

I was actually wondering the same thing. I wasn't sure if the position on these topics woul have a Mormon biased or if it was really open for discussion.

With 12 million Mormons worldwide, I think it's appropriate to have many topics of interest to LDS members on an international forum.

This has been asked before, the answers are simple:

1. Most of the supporters (actual contributors) to the site are LDS, other people from other Religions / backgrounds also donate and so forth, but not as much as the LDS who visit here, therefore it is only befitting that there are many LDS related Boards to celebrate their interest.

2. I am LDS and have a natural fondness for LDS Doctrinal Discussion, so I tend to participate there more than other places in the Community, but I do not bring up my Religious beliefs outside of the Religious section as is required by our Policy.

3. Religion is not Discussed outside the Religions section and even further LDS view points are not Discussed outside the LDS section. This way those who are atheist, agnostic or from other Religious affiliation do not have to feel intimidated by each other's beliefs.

4. The majority of visitors who come to International Discussions are probably not LDS, but those who actually participate are.

Thus any perception that there are so many is a matter for the points above.
