Yes send her and any other deserters back to face their trials for desertion. Every one who id deserting and heading to Canada knew before they signed on that line that they could someday see war. If they did not want to risk ending up in a war situation then they should have never joined the military. No one forced them to join the military. We have an all volunteer force.
