Campylobacteriosis
Does eating uncooked foods cause Campylobacteriosis?
The most common way of getting this disease is from under cooked poultry or cross contaminated foods that have come in contact with poultry. This is a very preventable disease. Making sure your food is cooked especially poultry can ensure that you will not get this disease.
If you freeze the raw poultry meat the number of bacteria will lessen. Outbreaks are usually caused through contact with contaminated water or unpasteurized milk.
When preparing raw meats, always keep your hands and all cooking utensils clean. Even a drop of infected chicken juice can make you sick.
