A $5,000 bribe to not sure them I think can go a long ways. Now they not only got a a free plane ride to their destination now they are getting money to help them with their lost baggage and goods.

I doubt that will stop civil suits. If someone were going to attend something important like a job interview or funeral or whatever they will claim mental distress or whatever their lawyer cooks up.

I figured that this would be the conclusion as to why the plane went down. If they had hit only one engine the pilot should have been able to get the plane back to the airport.
