I was here yesterday and only just noticed you had a movie reviews section. Have you seen "Let the Right One In" or as its known in its original language "Låt den rätte komma in". It was created in Sweden and surrounds two 12 year olds with secrets. For those who saw it was that old guy the girl was with an older version of Oskar? I don't think he was the father.
I read on another site that there is a book that says the old man was a pedophile and Eli just met him prior to where we start in the movie. Maybe he was doing the 'favor' of getting blood for her in exchange for you know what. That is why she was cold with him and wanted a friend in Oskar. Maybe Oskar was to be the next replacement.
What book is that? Is there an english online version? That would explain why she treated him like that but he seemed to be a bit jealous eh? Remember when he told her not to see Oskar? Also, why did he pour acid on his head. If he was trying to kill himself then it didn't make sense. To pur it on his head instead he needed to drink it.
Interesting movie. My main question would be why would a venerable person trapped in a 12 year old's body still want comfort from or in a 12 year old? Wouldn't maturity have taken place? (I will bring this up in the Psychology Board). The movie does bring up a lot of questions since you are not really introduced to the characters or their purpose. I must admit that it is a very different kind of vampire movie, not typical in any way. You have to read the subtitles, to understand, but the acting is dark even though there is not much in the way of words. By the way, the original title is "Låt den rätte komma in". By the end of the movie you have to wonder who is becoming really more dark, Oskar or Eli.

What is your review for the movie, "Let The Right One In"?
Oskar, a bullied 12-year old, dreams of revenge. He falls in love with Eli, a peculiar girl. She can't stand the sun or food and to come into a room she needs to be invited. Eli gives Oskar the strength to hit back but when he realizes that Eli needs to drink other peoples blood to live he's faced with a choice. How much can love forgive? Let The Right One In is a story both violent and highly romantic, set in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in 1982.
