Do you agree with the following quote?

"The revolution is a dictatorship of the exploited against the exploiters."
-- Fidel Castro

Exploiters Exploited

Well that is generally the cause and purpose of a revolution, to over through those who exploit and mistreat you. Revolutions are to over through the oppressor and tear down the exploiter. Coming from Fidel Castro, knowing he was himself a dictator, thats a rather odd yet insightful statement. I'm not sure that his revolution really falls into that type of category, because he simply installed a military dictatorship.

I'm just going to jump into this debate with both feet. Yes, I agree with this statement. But this sentence can be tweaked to serve any government. Let's take a look at this:

The revolution is a democracy of the exploited against the exploiters.

The revolution is a republic of the exploited against the exploiters.

The revolution is a [enter religious belief system of your choice here] of the exploited against the exploiters.

The revolution is a welfare of the exploited against the exploiters.

Revolutions somehow always imply of an underdog over turning a self-riteous over powering government or ruler. Of course the exploited are against the exploiters. What this quote doesn't mention is hat the Exploited become their enemy (the Exploiter) somewhere down the road...

So now the exploited can exploit the exploiters. That's all he's really saying I think. Dictatorships tend to exploit people- he just chose the people who had exploited the workers before while he was off playing baseball.
