Invisible Clothes?

Any of you saw the movie 'Predator'? Remember the alien that had the cool invisible suit? Well looks like we will have this for ourselves soon.

NASA excited by 'invisible' coat

Kazutoshi Obana's gray, hooded coat doesn't just keep him dry in a downpour.  It can also make him seem invisible. The  coat is designed using microscopic reflectors that act like a movie screen. They can even reflect images when the material is wrinkled.

Very interesting! The link you have gives a "not found" error, but I did find this one:

"The technology could prove useful for various professions. Surgeons could use it to see through their own fingers and surgical tools during operations. Another use could be in aviation where pilots could make cockpit floors transparent. "

I have found little to nothing new about this technology but I would have serious concerns about it being easily obtained. This would be a thief's dream as he could pass in front of a video camera without fear of being seen sneaking around. This has also been described as the technology that can bend light.

For every new thing comes new responsibility. Some people will use it for good and some will use it for bad. I believe it has a lot of potential but then again so does a lot of things but end up scraped later. A good example is a lot of the things on american inventor.

I am waiting for them to make a building or a ship disappear with this type of technology. Once that happens we will know it is not long before we all can appear and disappear as we wish.
