President Barack Obama Forces Taxpayers to Fund, Promote Worldwide Abortions Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Barack Obama promised during the presidential campaign that he wanted to reduce abortions and said as much in a statement yesterday in association with the anniversary of Roe. Today, however, he betrayed that promise by forcing taxpayers to fund groups promoting and performing abortions overseas. In an executive order, the president officially scrapped the Mexico City Policy that protected taxpayers from involvement in overseas abortions for eight years. Now, Obama will send hundreds of millions of dollars to groups that aggressively promote abortions on a worldwide scale. Obama was slated to overturn on Thursday the protections President Bush put back in place following the Clinton administration, but Obama decided to wait. He hoped his decision today to force taxpayers to fund foreign abortions will somehow make him seem less radical because he decided to wait until after the pro-life movement mourned the thirty-sixth anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The executive order will make non-governmental groups that do abortions in other nations or lobby pro-life countries to overturn their abortion limits eligible for public funds. During the Bush administration, such groups were prevented from receiving the family planning money or any aid through the State Department, if they would not back down from their pro-abortion agenda. Hundreds of Thousands March for Life, Pro-Life People Invigorated to Stop Obama
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Hundreds of thousands of pro-life advocates marched for life today in the nation's capital and they displayed a renewed vigor to stop abortions. it appeared in the excitement in the crowd that the election of Barack Obama had one silver lining, the ability to motivate millions of pro-life advocates to get to work. Congressman Chris Smith, who has been a pro-life leader on Capitol Hill for years, addressed the pre-march rally. "Each of you are an integral part of the greatest human rights struggle on the face of the earth - the right to life movement," he said. "A selfless expression of tangible love, compassion and commitment to protecting women and children from the pain and violence of abortion and safeguarding all who are weak, frail, and unwanted." Smith gave the marchers hope for survival during the next four years. "Be encouraged - our cause is right, our faith unshakable; our resolve indomitable," he said.

This is the same thing Clinton did when he got into office. Actually, one of Reagan's first moves was to ban overseas funded abortions. Basically, this is a party standard operating procedure after a party change in the Oval Office. Democrats retake the White House, we get tax payer funded abortions abroad. Republicans retake the White House, we no longer get tax payer funded abortions abroad. All Catholics and other religious groups that voted for Obama, this was part of the package so quit complaining. I guess "hope" for the future aborted ones abroad will have to just embrace this "change".

Not just abortions, but forced abortion and sterilization, as well as "a triumph for human rights." Can this be for real? It makes me sick to think our tax money is going to fund this organization!

United Nations Population Fund Leader Says Family Breakdown is a Triumph for Human Rights By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman Life Site News MEXICO CITY, February 3, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A leader in the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has declared that the breakdown of traditional families, far from being a "crisis," is actually a triumph for human rights. Speaking at a colloquium held last month at Colegio Mexico in Mexico City, UNFPA representative Arie Hoekman denounced the idea that high rates of divorce and out-of-wedlock births represent a social crisis, claiming that they represent instead the triumph of "human rights" against "patriarchy." "In the eyes of conservative forces, these changes mean that the family is in crisis," he said. "In crisis? More than a crisis, we are in the presence of a weakening of the patriarchal structure, as a result of the disappearance of the economic base that sustains it and because of the rise of new values centered in the recognition of fundamental human rights." "Day after day, Mexico experiences a process of this diversity and there are those who understand it as a crisis, because they only recognize one type of family," one of the speakers on the panel also told the audience. ... The UNFPA recently celebrated the restoration of US support after seven years, during which they were denied funding by the Bush administration. UNFPA has cooperated with and even helped to subsidize China's One Child Policy, which persecutes and performs forced abortions on women who have more than one child. In addition to its support for forced abortions, the UNFPA has helped to administer forced sterilizations in South America and is involved in the distribution and promotion of contraceptives and sterilization worldwide, with a focus on poorer countries. |

House Democrats Prevent Amendment Limiting Obama's Intl Abortion Agenda
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The House of Representatives is slated to consider a bill today to fund the State Department, but House Democrats wielded their control over the chamber by preventing a pro-life amendment. Rep. Chris Smith had hoped to offer an amendment to limit President Barack Obama's international abortion agenda. Several pro-life groups are urging opposition to the State Department funding bill (HR 2410) unless an amendment is adopted making sure the new Office for Global Women's Issues, which the bill authorizes, will not promote abortion. The pro-life organizations are worried that Obama, who appointed a longtime abortion advocate to head up the office, will use the ambassador post to promote an international right to abortion. As LifeNews.com has reported, Smith had hoped to have an opportunity to offer an amendment that would have made the bill abortion neutral. It would have allowed the creation of the new post, but only to promote legitimate women's interests, not abortion. During a meeting of the House Rules Committee on Wednesday night, House Democrats decided to shape the rules of the debate on the bill to disallow Smith amendment. Douglas Johnson, the legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee, talked with LifeNews.com about the latest developments. "The House Rules Committee, an arm of the House Democratic leadership, refused to allow the House to vote on the Chris Smith amendment, which would have prohibited the Obama Administration from using the new Office for Global Women's Issues to attack pro-life laws in other nations," he explained. Which Obamacare Plans Pay for Abortions? Most State Exchanges Won't Tell You
From the beginning of the rollout of the federal and state websites displaying health insurance plans eligible for premium subsidies, the ability to identify key elements of the plans, compare and contrast them, and understand the scope of coverage and other issues has been limited at best.
In most cases, it was necessary at the outset of healthcare.gov (The federal exchange web site) on October 1, 2013 for an individual to register for a plan before finding out what it contained and what it excluded. That situation prevailed even for the most controversial of coverage topics - elective abortion - despite the prominence of the abortion issue in the final passage of the Affordable Care Act. Ref. House Passes Bill to Completely Ban Taxpayer Funding of Abortions
The House today approved legislation that will put in place a complete ban on taxpayer funding of abortions that ensures abortions are not directly funded in any federal governmental program or department.
The legislation combines several policies that must be enacted every year in Congressional battles and puts them into law where they will not be in jeopardy of being overturned every time Congress changes hands from pro-life lawmakers to those who support abortions. The House voted 227-188 for the bill with 221 Republicans and 6 Democrats voting to ban taxpayer funding of abortions under HR7 while 187 Democrats and one Republican voted against it. Ref. Source 5
