Taking all things into account, which is better for a country in the long run: to fight and lose a just war or or to fight and win an unjust one? Lets say that there can be no middle ground on this one.

I would have to say to fight and lose a just war. You are more likely to get the people behind you in the just war and the people will do all they can to shore up resources and other things to make sure they nation survives and its armed forces are solid. In the unjust war your driving a wedge between the people and the soldiers. This puts both side of the nation against each other causing a weak nation.
What's your point dbacker? These Unjust wars are not meant to be won. They are meant to drag out and soak the tax payers so that corporations can get richer off the blood of the serfs.
You cant rationalize an unjust war. This isn't a football game.
In history, there have been thousands of wars.
Now, for the health of a country( I am speaking of the thousands of years of war) is winning the a more important thing in War or is being right more important?

If your talking about all the past wars you have to remember they were in it for the win. It does not matter if they were fighting a war they believed in or just fighting a war to gain more power. The past has taught us a lot of the wars fought were not over a belief as much as it was over territory and lands they felt they needed to gain power.
I know that this is not a religious thread, but I think that one has to really consider their eternal status when engaging in an unjust war. If there are mistakes made then I am sure the right thing would be not to participate in an unjust war.

I would imagine it depends on the consequences. Should you lose a just war and everything that you had is taken from you as a result of the loss, then you probably dont care much about the justness at all...just the results. In that case, you would be a double loser. You would lose the war as well as your home and way of life. If you were the winner of a unjust war, then the worst is that your conquered would always hate you and you would have to be ever vigilant of reprisal and that the rest of the world may look down on you...possibly such that you might end up in another war soon, but you would have your way of life for the time being.
I have to go with the Al Davis view on this...JUST WIN BABY!

A just war is only a persons view point and should have no bearing on a war. It should be fought for one reason to win. See an enemy eliminate it no discriminating in cold tactics to win.
Funny how politics start a war and yet can prevent you from being allowed to win it.
