She's having interviews with Dr. Phil. She's making a lot of money so we will see her on Dr. Phil with her story. The news was saying that her own parents' home was close to foreclosure and so 'Octa Mom' as they're calling her now is going to buy her own house. Where is she getting all this money. Maybe from shows like Dr. Phil.

I know I am not the first person to make this observation, but I find it odd that enough people do not see reality and media attentions for the 'freak shows' they really are. At one point in our society, the majority frowned upon the exploitation of people who were born different. These, people who because of deformities or other unusual traits were not able to make a decent living at anything else because the majority of the people's awareness had not yet evolved to the point where they would except anything different from themselves. To this day, we still refer to this an ignorance.

Today we have reality shows, following a family of octoplets and now a woman who has come to instill a fascination in all of us that surpasses all of the other circus side shows. People are lining up to see this 'new bearded lady', paying their nickle just to catch a glimpse of her.

Perhaps it is our nature. Maybe this is truly the only way that the 'freaks' of our society can survive, but make no mistake to believe for one instant that we are any different from those who a century ago watched in horror and delight as John Merrick awkwardly stepped into the spot light.

We should embrace this woman, who has found it necessary to mutilate her face and give birth to a brood as a person not unlike the 'elephant man'. Is her story as tragic as his? I doubt it. Does she deserve to become rich off of people's fascination? If people are foolish enough to pay their money for the freak show, then yes.

One day people will look back on our 'reality freak shows' and the ignorance of our media just as we look back on those same circus side shows with disdain, and maybe then we will begin to move forward again.

I don't know what to think of that. Is he really that kindhearted, to take on helping Octo-mom even if he is not the biological father? Or is he merely riding on her coattails to get his 15-minutes of fame? Interesting.

As you know a lot of people want to 'help' her with the kids. The latest offer is for US$1,000,000.00 as well as free medical and dental care if she films some porn videos. No, I'm not kidding - sickos!

I missed the first part of the interview today with Dr. Phil but tomorrow they will show the second part. Apparently, it was her who contacted Dr. Phil in a desperate call after she was told by hospital officials that if she does not have better living arrangements for the babies, they will likely NOT release the kids to her.

You can see Nadya Suleman on ABC and CBS at 6pm our time (5pm EST). Yes the hospital can keep the children if they feel the parent is incapable of taking care of the babies. Social Services in this case will then be contacted.

Personally, I think Social Services has been on red alert ever since the announcement of this woman's circumstances. They are chomping at the bit to step in and take those kids! Honestly, CPS never hesitates to take a child from situations that are the least bit dicey -- especially in California. In my opinion, I think they have way too much power and not enough oversight. I know a family who had a little 3-year-old girl taken from them because the social worker thought there was an unhealthy relationship between the mother of the child and the mother's father. Completely not true!

However, having said that, in this case what is the answer? What's best for these babies? The Octo-Mom is obviously in dire straits and not a little mentally unstable. I just hope something helps the *babies*.
