The Goose with the Golden Eggs
Consider the following quote and place your thoughts:
"Thinking to get at once all the gold the goose could give, he killed it and opened it only to find - nothing."
-- Aesop (c. 550 B.C.) legendary Greek fabulist Source: The Goose with the Golden Eggs
This could pretty much describe the current state of the globe.
In 550 B.C., an ancestor wrote this parable to teach a lesson of greed, in the hope that future generations would learn from it. And yet, we continue to drain all the money we can until nothing is left. We continue to strip the land until nothing remains. It is sad, that we are doomed to never understand such a simple lesson. Perhaps this is our nature and so we are destined to inherit nothing.
