Should Economic Stimulus Bill Include Billions for Nuclear Power?
A coalition of environmental groups are calling on senators to remove a controversial provision from the $900 billion stimulus bill that could lead to the construction of a new generation of nuclear power plants. I believe that the use of nuclear power is not to right answer but rather a short sighted goal. Granted it can help us get cheaper more cleaner power but at what cost. Most larger scale nuclear power plants have proven to be unsafe. I wonder if the NEW generation of power plants are going to be any safer?
