Did you see the Homeless Woman (CNN) who said to Pres. Obama that she needs urgent help? Pres. Obama was touched by her and gave her a kiss on her cheek and promised that his staff will be in touch with her. Ms. Henrietta Hughes has so far been offered her a three bedroom home until she gets on her feet. Any thoughts?

So anyone who has a sob story should now seek out our president and get him to let them back into their home or some other home of their choice so they can live there rent and mortgage free? What about us hard workers who are not getting the shaft in all of this?

How many people like her are in the US? Thousands! I don't think the answer is to ask help to the President but obviously there are some things need to put in place to ensure homeless people can have the opportunity to get back into their feet and have some sort of normal life.

Pres. Obama did say to her, before kissing her, that there are thousands like her, but he was quick to realize that this is not what a homeless person wants to hear. I do not think that she was just focusing on herself but instead was acting like a representative of what the unheard US citizens need as well. I hope we can track this and see where it goes.

Something does not seem right about this story as reported by CNN. How does a homeless woman get tickets to attend the rally and be in front of the crowd? When Obama tells his assistants to put her in touch with housing officials, just "by chance" the housing officials were also in the crowd!

Then there is all this help she is getting from other politicians and people in general and I wonder....how is it possible that all this people are willing to help this lady with money, free rent and probably pass homeless people on their daily lives?

Why her? What am I missing? Something does not seem right.

It was an open event (read about it under Obamamania in the Politics Board). The person holding the mic was part of his staff, so I'm assuming she was also right there. I think it was a genuine situation, what leads you to believe otherwise that this is staged?

The fact that people stayed overnight to get those tickets and I find too much of a coincidence that she was able to get tickets right in front of him and ask him for help as well as local housing officials, who happened to be in the crowd too "by coincidence".

I am not saying her plea isn't real but looks staged to me.

She was on Fox News today together with the woman that helped her with the home. She explained that her son and herself left New York looking for work after borrowing a loan at a high interest rate. They lived in their car for quite some time and ended up in Florida still not being able to look for work. The woman who helped her just said she felt moved to do so as they had an extra home that was vacant.
