Title: Justice here and the underdog
Comments: Political threats to the young or hardened criminals who act in a criminal or lawless manner in districts such as Beetham / Laventille is only going to make matters worse. Any citizen in these areas acting in a criminal or lawless manner should be immediately arrested, charged and brought before a court of justice and given the harshest punishment available to set an example to other bad citizens in these areas. Moreover, The politicians should instigate a program of the development of the environment in these down trodden districts which should aim at enhancing the, environment, living standards, living conditions and education of all the citizens in such already deprived areas. This is something that should have been done decades ago which would have proved fruitful today. To leave the situation as it is today is going to allow the lawlessness to develop to an extent where it becomes uncontrollable and difficult to shutdown as the police are now discovering. Moreover, although these citizens are having to resort to crime to make two ends meet and are classified as semi educated and lawless criminals, they are not by any means stupid. They are intelligent enough to know that when it comes to justice that they are treated quite differently from the upper classes who are protected and treated by those in the police and justice systems by a different set of legal rules and regulations. They are fully aware of justice system having one law for the rich and upper classes and another law for the underdogs of our society. This only helps them delve more into more acts of criminality and resentment of the establishment including the police. This is therefore another area of importance that politicians need to equalize in an attempt to make such citizens see that a blind eye is not turned by the legal authorities and professionals when dealing with the elite of our nation especially in the crimes of corruption.

Title: Neighbourhood gangs
Comments: This is nothing new- corruption within the police force. Some of the older heads may remember Randolph Boroughs. He was the Head man in the Police department- yet he was as crooked as an auger. Let's face facts- the island- following independence- fell into the hands of politicians who were incapable of leading. Businesses took over the helm and has since held the ruling parties at ransom. The Businesses have infiltrated every organ of the society- politics, law, churches, schools, health- they have- through bribery, corruption, coercion - they took control of everything. Now we are faced with this violent, angry, divisive and envious uneducated mob.

Title: Gang Leaders Galore
Comments: Perhaps the politicians including the AG and those high ranking officials at TTPS could answer the question as to why we have so many leading gang leaders on this island. Is it because they were/are allowed to flourish without hindrance. It seems rather strange that for the past five decades the police authorities kept saying that serious crime has fallen. I wonder what these gang leaders were doing over the past decades? In my opinion, it seems that they were simply multiplying, bearing in mind the revelation by the AG. Moreover we are such a small island with unequally small population. It is just unbelievable.
