Sebelius May Face Perjury Charges For Misleading Congress on Obamacare
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius misled Congress on Obamacare during hearings on Capital Hill. Pro-life advocates were upset she didn't provide truthful information about abortion funding under the controversial health care law and Republicans were upset about a wide range of issues on which they felt the HHS Secretary was less than forthcoming.
Now, committee chairman Rep Darrell Issa has warned Sebelius in a letter that her testimony on Obamacare may result in perjury charges. Ref. Source 3
President Barack Obama today praised outgoing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. He said she would "Go down in history" As serving as secretary when the United States "Finally declared that quality, affordable health care" Would be a right for every U.S. Citizen.
He said Sebelius leaves with some bumps and bruises and that he will miss her advice, friendship and wit.
Obama nominated Sylvia Mathews Burwell to replace Sebelius at HHS. Burwell is the current director of the Office of Management and Budget. Ref. CNN
