I like the fact that Brazil is playing on Friday instead of Saturday (before Argentina) so we can get an idea on how the semi and finals will look like.

Also, the Germans will have to be extra careful since 7 of their players have yellow cards.

Netherlands Beat Brasil Netherlands - 2 and Brazil - 1 - Brazil is out of the FIFA World Cup! The Dutch came from behind to score twice, in fact they could have scored many more! One of the Brazilians was also sent off.

I have been saying it for a very long time. Brazil got a very easy group and the teams they beat so far were nothing! This was the real deal and Brazil FAILED to shine, they always fail when they are meeting a BIG team.

What a Result! Brazil started the game as usual, quick passing and confident, the pass for and run from Robiniho was a simple joy to watch.
At the end of the first half my hopes were up for Holland as Brazilian cracks were beginning to show.
The Brazilian Substitute scored an own goal under pressure from Sneijder.
Then later after a cool flick from Kaut, Sneijder added a second.
After this it was a desperate struggle for Brazil and Holland could have added a few more. Game of the Tournament so far, mabe until the big showdown tomorrow between Argentina and Germany.

Apparently the Octopus Oracle have spoken. He has a 100% good track in this world cup, never failed. He said Germany will beat Argentina tomorrow.

international QUOTE
BERLIN (AFP) - Nervous ahead of their make-or-break World Cup match with Ghana on Wednesday, Germany has turned to an English-born octopus called Paul with a knack for correctly predicting winners.

"For the European Championship in 2008 Paul had a success rate of more than 80 percent for the German games," Tanja Munzig, a spokeswoman for Sea Life in Oberhausen in western Germany where the eight-legged oracle lives, told AFP.

"And for this World Cup, he has had a 100-percent success rate so far."

Two plastic boxes, one with a German flag and one with their opponent's, are lowered into Paul's tank, each with a tasty morsel of food inside. The box which Paul opens first is adjudged to be his predicted winner.

For Wednesday's crunch game, he chose the box with the Germany flag. He correctly predicted Germany would beat Australia in their opening Group D match and that they would lose to underdogs Serbia last week...

Watching the first half thus far and Ghana has just scored against Uruguay. I have to wonder what the Uruguayans are doing. They have made a few attempts on goal but nothing significant. The Ghanaian players have been kicking against the Uruguayan goal vigorously. Uruguay is playing as though its just a friendly exhibition match. They need to pick up their momentum and forget all the past games they have won if they wish to move to the semi-finals.

Uruguay Beats Ghana Uruguay - 4 and Ghana - 3 The match turned out to be interesting going into extra time with a goal each and then a penalty shoot out. Ghana had MORE than enough opportunities to beat Uruguay but threw it all away.

I thought that Brazil was over rated and todays game proved that. I thought that in a defensive battle that the Dutch would have a nice chance of winning. They proved that Brazil had many weaknesses and that if you played them tough they would start to play dirty. This fact proved their downfall as one player was red carded and thus the Netherlands players were able to keep the ball more on brazils half and pressure the goal. Their win shows that they have the ability to play a good defensive game and shut down a high flying offensive.

In the Ghana and Uruguay game the Ghana team could have scored in the final minute but a hand ball was called as time expired. The winning kick hit the crossbar sending the game into penalty kicks. The fact that these two played each other well gave their future opponents a good look at the many weaknesses in their defenses. I think when Uruguay faces the Dutch they are going to have a hard time keeping the dutch from scoring on them.
