I was lucky to bet on Germany to lift the trophy, I got 14/1. That was before the tournament started.
After yesterday William Hill bookmakers are offering 2/1 on a German win.
Spain are 15/8, not really worth a bet.

Tomorrow the semifinals start with Uruguay Vs. Netherlands at 2:30 pm (AST) and on Wednesday is Germany Vs. Spain at 2:30pm (AST).

What are your predictions?

Netherlands - 3 and Uruguay - 2. It was a very entertaining match. Uruguay should have attacked more than ever before but they started to become hopeless after the third goal. The second late goal made them pick up steam but by then it was too late.

I don't think Holland got out of second gear, their defence was steady and Robben had a good game. If the Dutch really got passionate they would be a sight to behold. I predict Germany to beat Spain 3 - 1 and a very close final.

I heard that the famous "Oracle Octopus" who have predicted 100% accurate the results of the games that Germany played during this World Cup have predicted that Germany will lose against the Spaniards tomorrow. He predicted that Germany would defeat Ghana, Australia, England, and Argentina, which they did. Also predicted that Germany would lose to Serbia, which they also did.

BUT back in 2008 in another Germany - Spain game, the same octopus committed a mistake by stating that Germany would win, but the Spaniards ended up taking the win.

At the first half: Germany - 0 and Spain - 0. I am amazed that the Germans are allowing the Spaniards to dominate them so much. The Spaniards should be a goal up but missed a gift of a header.

By second half Spain totally dominated the game, the final score:
Spain - 1 and Germany - 0.

Paul the Oracle Octopus was right once again! He predicted Spain would beat Germany and they did. So far, he has 100% successful predictions with regards to Germany.

The key in beating the Germans is ALWAYS having total control over the ball and keep the pressure high at ALL times. That's exactly what the Spaniards did.

Yes the team from Spain played good ball control and kept the ball out of the german attackers as much as possible. If spain plays this way against the Netherlands I can see them winning with little trouble.
