Elder Bednar gave the following quote during a devotional at BYU Idaho:
Mormon apostles are treated like superstars
But the isolation of the LDS Church hierarchy concerns me at times. We regard our general authorities, particularly the apostles and church president, as theological rock stars. The flattery, particularly in publications such as "The Church News" and "Mormon Times," is cringe-inducing. Ref. Source 5
Are you looking for a church with perfect leaders?
Our leaders don't claim perfection, though, and it's uncharitable for us to claim it on their behalf. Only one perfect person has lived on this planet. Only one person saves. The rest of us, including general authorities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, require saving. Ref. Source 8q.
