I believe that each life vest has a weight limit they can handle. If you just buy generic adult life vests you may not be able to use them to save yourself. I believe that the generic life vest is only good for 250 lbs. While this will save the life of many people I know that it will not save me as I weight more than that. I believe a lot of NFL players are over that mark too. People need to make sure they have a life vest that will support their weight.
