There is a sense of entitlement prevalent on the internet that makes surfers believe they can go anywhere and do whatever they like without consequence or barriers. Yep, we get all types here and just in case you are wondering... We are moderating everything!

Anyone who is offended by this thread can choose not to read it. I find there are several threads on this board that I personally don't participate in because I don't like what is being discussed or the manner in which it is being discussed. That doesn't mean the thread shouldn't be on the board. It doesn't mean we should not allow the discussion. As long as names aren't being mentioned and as long as fingers are not being pointed, I think it has a purpose. If you don't agree with the purpose you don't have to read it. If you don't like the Administrator's "attitude" find another site.

Sorry, but that is how I see it. I hope everyone will continue to stay and be a part of this forum, but we should all remember (me included) that this forum does not belong to us. We are here as guests as long as we choose to follow the rules.

I find this thread helpful because it opens my eyes to some behavior I might be guilty of seen through the eyes of others. It brings me up short and makes me look at my posting style a bit more to be sure I am not guilty of what is found aggravating by others.

If you think you see yourself in one of these posting styles, why not see what you can do to improve your posting style or behavior rather than blame someone else for discovering such behavior. If you don't see yourself in any of these posting styles, then I see no problem. If you are not sure, you have two choices. Closer self-examination or just let the matter drop and not worry about if the Admin means you or not.

This is all my opinion, I realize many will find it harsh...

Users Forum Types

The main purpose of this thread is to let those same "Type of users" know we watch carefully what they do in the forum. This is a highly moderated site and one of our main goals is to keep the standards and integrity of this forum to the max. Why do you think some members continue to stay regardless to all the critics to the admins, moderators and the forum in general?. I would personally leave if I do not like the way something is being handled. After all there are millions of forums and message boards on the net. Why do they do not leave? Simple: 1) Because they know they cannot find another site like this one. 2) Nobody will put up with their nonsense as we do.
You see, I understand what you tried to say Konquerez but the truth is that you do not have idea of what is going on "behind the scenes" and by behind the scenes I mean members who are constantly harrasing us, who accuses us of all sort of things if we do not reply immediatly to their requests, users who harrass us to answer their posts, users who are on a daily basis writing us and demanding an explanation for every little thing. Users who portrait one thing on the forum and their posts and a very totally different personality outthe forum. You would not even believe are the same people. They are rude, cheeky and self-righteous. They even mess up with our religion. They are the same users who you may believe they are very nice and friendly, but let me tell you my friend, you and everyone here do not know the whole story, but I do understand your judgment based on how some people are perceived, but the truth is that is merely an act and I know because I have experienced this with the same members sometimes over and over and over. Just as the phrase says "Not everything that shines is gold"...just because you may see people within the community you perceive being very nice it does not mean this is their true personality and believe me I have my "taste" of them many, many times and I feel compelled to warn you and everyone here of this "Types of Forum users" who you think they are one thing, but they are not...and they can put this act with everyone else, but not with me, I discovered their true colors long ago. They are here to stir up contention even when you may not realised it. They do it on a daily basis. Be aware.

I know and I am aware that some of you may think what we are saying is harsh as Tena pointed out...but again as I said before, you all do not know the kind of communications we have with this "Types of users" on a daily basis, we talk because we know and experience these things for ourselves.

All I can say is that this thread is going to remain constant within the forum, it will make those "Type of users" know we are very aware of what they are doing, they are not fooling us. It is also a protection shield for the rest of the members, so they can be aware and take the neccesary precautions against these "Type of Users". It was never intented to be positive or negative, it was meant for you all to know exactly the kind of users we deal with every day. If anyone is bother by this thread, do not read it. You have that choice. If anyone is bother about how things are run around here, please do us a favour and delete your account, after all if you (the person/s who may not be happy with the community) is/are so unhappy and think the site is not up to your standards...then please just leave, why do you want to stay if you are so unhappy about it. Believe me, it will benefit us both (you and me).

The user who changes their name after having posted over 3000 times on the forum, and then expects others to conform and start referring to them as someone else. The nerve of these people!

My point wasn't that I was offended at all. I don't get offended. It was merely that the posting was focusing on all bad types of users in the forum. The appearance of this thread was that it was to talk about types of users. I thought it would be nice to see something positive because there are an abundance of good types of users too. I made a point to point out the good users on the forum, and may start posting good user types here also.

I like users that keep things exciting by changing their viewing names right after I have started to learn everyones name. laugh.gif

This is the Feedback Board, this is not the Rave section. When Feedback is given, it is given based on current occurences. In this case the only people that really know what kinds of Forum Users we have here are the Mods and myself. If you search through the thread you will see that we mention good qualities in Users too, but that is not the point of the thread. There are features for that, they are called 'Charisma' and posting how you feel about a user in their own Intro / Rave thread. This thread has 'touched' many users in their sensitive areas simply because they realize we are talking about them (without a name of course) and as one Good Man once said... ...the truth taketh to be hard. So long as you are a good constructive poster this thread should not bother you in the least.

I do not think anyone here felt that you were offended - it was not aimed at you, but as you can see by the link provided we have various levels of it (being offended) and most concerns are answered there rather than having to be typed out each time..

Types of Forum Users

A Positive...

The type of Forum User that is optimistic and interested in intellectual interaction. They join because they think that our setup is ideal to keep the rest of the filth of the WWW out. They see all our rules not as restrictions, but as a way to keep order and for them to express thoughts without having to be ridiculed. These kinds of people notice how full their glass is and not how empty it is... in other words they count their blessings. They see updates and changes for the greater good and not how it lacks for personal interests. They simply come, enjoy themselves, leave something to ponder wether it be fact or opinion and then depart until a next day to return with a follow-up. It is a pleasure to deal with these people as nothing is a problem and everything is taken objectively.

I appreciate the type of forum users that have a lot of knowledge and experience to share. They help me see things I might not have otherwise thought about. I appreciate the forum users who use many elements in their post's; personal experience, knowledge, research, humor, intelligence, common sense, and fun-loving, depending what the thread is about. I enjoy reading these posts. I appreciate users that can discuss things and disagree, even in the strongest terms, but they don't make it personal. I appreciate the forum users that start and answer threads on a variety of topics. I appreciate forum users that choose to see the best in others. The types of forum users that don't decide that things are a certain way and won't consider anything different. I appreciate forum users who choose to be helpful to others. I appreciate forum users who try to stay positive, even though they get frustrated with themselves and/or others sometimes.

Types Forum Users Community News FAQ & Feedback - Page 10

Users that try to portray a 'goodie-goodie' demeanor while at the same time back stabbing at every chance. Sending endless PM, Emails, and IM to rant and rave about how difficult life is in the Community - only to return another day in the same Community to be 'goodie-goodie' once again.

Users that come up with such good ideas that you feel compelled to create them immediately just because you did not think of it before.

Users that can't get over smiles.
