You turn around to face the attack that is sure to come. You are unable to find an adequate place to ascend and you are far from where you first were. The hooves of horses are sounding louder in your ears. You find yourself braced against one side of the mountain, but not so much as to make you immobile but just for cover. The barking of the wolves changes tone and becomes more like growls as you start to see the outline of them and horse riders to the rear.
GM: This is just to update the story in preparation for battle which will proceed this Post as I make the calculations. No other Party Order Post needed.
GM: Based on rolls.
The wolves arrive with disciplined attack. They spread to meet each of you.
Kalfie is met by a wolf and reacts so quickly with his sword that the animal dissects in two without a yelp.
Thomas does the same as Kalfie with equal discipline.
Wanderer took out her wolf with an arrow before it even got within striking range.
Daphne misses then hits a blow to the wold that badly wounds it, but before the wolf could react Wanderer placed an arrow square on its side causing the wolf to fall over helplessly.
Pundit lays low the wolf before him with his large sword.
Crusher deals deadly blows and all the wolves are now silent and not a sound can be heard.
Not for long...
You hear the whizzing sound of arrows coming your way as thunderous horses approach.
GM: Say if you wish to just continue the battle or if you want to do something special.
GM: Battle with bandits based on rolls
You all take out your bows and arm them with arrows.
There are roughly six bandits from what you can tell and they are almost invisible because of the dark. One of them throws a torch about fifty feet from where you are and all of you show more clearly.
Kalfie fires but both arrows just fly through the air without hitting anything. None of the bandit's arrows come close to him.
Thomas shoots an arrow and he can hear the sound of a man's voice in agony then a gallop away.
Wanderer fires two arrows and brings down her foe, the horse immediately gallops away in haste.
Daphne brings down one rider and then the rest start to ride off quickly and you are left in the dark.
GM: Some of you have gone up a level, but there will be no adjustment made til you head back to the Village to rest. Party Stats have been updated. Soon I hope to be able to have you all update this yourself.
You rush over to the area where the bandits were. You find but one loan bandit dead. Of value is his cloak and a short sword. You do not see signs of anyone else around, but it is dark so you are not totally sure.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
You are pushing yourselves as you decide to venture up the Mountain that is East of Death's Mouth. It is still dark and movement is therefore limited. You cross Death's Mouth opening easily and without any hindrance. You do not hear any wolves or horse's hooves, but you are not sure how to feel about that. You find the other pass leading to the top easily. You begin climbing in a tired manner.
GM: Everyone roll climbing again. This time the modifier will be +3. Let me know the result. Thanks.
You climb the East mountain in the dark and very tired from a long day. Together with your equipment and lack of knowledge about the terrain you find yourselves injured. Kalfie and Pundit take the most injuries from falling after a slip and it leaves them less than comfortable.
GM: Party Stats have been updated, say what you wish to do now.
You decide to rest awhile, eat and take an hour before you make your way to the top with an idea to attack the soldiers above.
GM: Everyone needs to send me new Combat Rolls and then I will continue the story, thanks.
You rest a bit and then continue up the mountain with the moons lighting your way. The task makes you uncomfortable and what is worst is you notice the light coming from the top of the mountain can hardly be seen, in fact unless you light a torch you are unsure if you can see anything at all based on your current position. At the same time you are concerned about giving away your presence if you do light a torch. You wonder why the fire is not burning as bright as it usually does.
GM: Say if you wish to do something different, otherwise I will just push you further to the top.
