I know that grease on a fire will give off a thicker black smoke compared to regular wood fire. A wagon wheel that came off a wagon should have grease or other lubricant that was used back then. I am guessing.
I would say lets stay up for the night and work out a plan to attack the other side tomorrow.
How is this for a post everyone.
We take a closer look at the wagon wheel. Does it appear to have grease or other substance on it? We also decide to make camp around the cave for the rest of the day and night keeping the fire at the same level it is now. We will have a person keeping watch on the trail up to make sure that if any relief comes up we know about it and can capture them. Our goal is capture not kill any relief. In the morning we will start our climb down to head to the eastern lookout to capture that point.
ooc: Welcome back Kntoran.
Let us examine the wagon wheel but I'm not sure about staying here because it can be like a trap. There's only one entrance and one exit, at least from what we saw.
Alright so if they don't send anyone or see the smoke signals stop then they will know something is wrong. I will go along with whatever the majority thinks.
I think as we cross to the next sight we best try to keep an eye out on that fire on it. If any change is noted we will need to be ready to defend. Not a pretty thought since we be on foot and they horse.
We also might be wise to do it just as day breaks.
