What? Did some one say something?
I all seriousness I know what you mean. When I was in the middle east I saw some of the treatment of women as second class citizens or worse. I find it hard to think of the waste of talent that is going on in those regions.
Yes I would think that there is a large factor there with the idea of how our society perceives woman. I think a good example is Lynette warning people she is on her cycle. In our society that means it is acceptable for a woman to be more moody on these days. No offense but it is a truth.
I also think how woman treat their children is a factor. I hear far to often a lady say to their child "Wait till your daddy gets home!". It undermines her authority as a mother and the future authority of women in the work place.
I don't like the idea of people thinking it's okay to use their cycle as an excuse or for guys to say "is it that time of the month or something?!". The hormones CAN cause some women to react a certain way to every day things, but some of us don't have any wild mood swings. I may be in pain during my time of the month but this does not make me moody. I'm actually nicer around that time because I'm in pain. The hormones during "that time of the month" are one reason why there hasn't been a female president in the United States yet. A person must stay composed and on top of things to be in charge or in authority. They can't break down.
Even if someone has hormone changes and feels a certain way, when they are speaking to a crowd or when they face responsibilities, they should be on top of their work and not let it affect them.
Also, both parents should share equal power in the family. Mom and dad should both have authority and be able to make decisions. One shouldn't be the bad guy or the good guy, they should share the roles and both be able to discipline.
