Iran has stated repeatedly, with every parade, missile test and TV broadcast, that their aim is to destroy Israel and wipe out the Jews. When your neighbour wants to see you dead, there isn't much room for negotiation, but you sure don't want to see him get better weapons, do you? Israel pushed the US to take action vs Iran, to stop their development of mass-murdering devices. Not to randomly bomb them. Israel is a lot smarter than that, but their hands are tied when it comes to dealing with the other totalitarian regimes that surround them. They do, however, respond when attacked - swiftly and decisively.
