Nighthawk Introduction - Page 27

Hello, Nighthawk. I was reading your reply to the classical music thread and I began to wonder how all is faring there on the home front? Is Mrs. Nighthawk getting adjusted on how to run things from the couch/bed/chair? Also, how is the driving situation coming? I am sure you all are managing things, I just hope things aren't too difficult to deal with right now. Sending lots of smiles and happiness your way. Take care.

Introduction Nighthawk

We're getting by. I got her to school last night. She changed her schedule so that she has one class per week, and is taking an online course. So, every Wednesday night, I will take her to her class.

She can get around a little bit in the house, in her wheelchair. However, she still doesn't want to try to get up the stairs to our bedroom. So, she spends all of her time on the couch.

In 2 1/2 weeks, we should find out more about when she will be able to have a walking cast. I don't really expect it for another 7 weeks or so.

I don't watch football, not even the Super Bowl. We did watch the half-time show, because we really like Sir Paul.

I do find the commercials enjoyable. But, since I don't watch the game, I always miss them.

However, thanks to OpinionJournal, I was led to a wonderful commercial from this year's Super Bowl.

My Mrs. is doing much better. She now has a removable cast, and is supposed to gradually try putting weight on her ankle. She still doesn't dare go upstairs, but maybe will this weekend.

Glad to hear Mrs. Nighthawk is doing better. Hope she continues to heal until shes ready to run the marathon! I know its hard to do your job and hers as well, hope your holding up as well.

Hey Nighthawk, I was reading your blog and have a few comments.

First, I hope you are feeling better soon. How long can that cold last? Surely by June, at the least it will be gone. *smile*

Second, I know what you mean about work. There are days when I feel like I am getting nothing accomplished. I have two locations at my Firm. The smaller one only has about 10% of the people with 90% being at the larger location. Anytime I have to spend any amount of time at the smaller location I fall so far behind at the larger location that I can't stand it. Week before last I spent two full days at the small location and this past week I spent another day. It is very frustrating.

Third, and most importantly, I want to comment on your post in the Iraq thread, which I have not read yet. I just want to comment on your reflections of the post. I have read many of your posts where I believe you have been quite direct, but I have never found one insulting or rude. I doubt this one is either based on the past year of reading your frequent posts. If someone leaves the forum because they don't like the fact that someone else doesn't agree with them they don't belong on a discussion forum anyway, in my opinion. If we all agree on everything, what is there to discuss. So, I believe as long as you weren't directing your comments at one particular person, you are probably fine. If someone thinks you are directing your comments at them, it is their responsibility, again in my opinion, to seek clarification before deciding to just leave the forum or even before deciding to truly take offense.

I, for one, am glad you are a part of this forum. I know many others feel the same way.

Nighthawk Introduction

Whew! For a moment there, I wondered if I was losing my mind. I couldn't remember posting in the Iraq thread in the last few weeks.

The problem with work is that I was unable to focus for so long, that I got behind. Now I am getting further and further behind every day. All these trips away just make it worse. Lots of fun.

Haven't been able to get peppermint oil yet. I am about alive at the moment.

FunBikerChic, I just went back and looked at that message from December. I was really frustrated that day, and was tired of seeing all the news reports, messages in forums and on email lists, and everything else that indicated that Americans are stooopid (if you've ever watched Dexter's Labratory, you will know why I write it that way).

I still get frustrated with somet things going on, such as Massechusett's favorite senator-for-life going on about how the US military is the problem in the middle east, just as the elections are shown to be hugely successful.

Oh, well. Check the frustrations at the door, otherwise the sarcasm will overwhelm me.
