Nighthawk Introduction - Page 37

Sorry to hear that about your finger, Nighthawk. I understand your frustration, particularly at having to use vacation time for things you'd rather not!

Hang in there. And, by the way, how's the family?

Introduction Nighthawk

The family is doing well. My oldest daughter is getting married in the Mesa temple in August. The oldest son is still in Utah, but is now trying to figure out whether to stay up there or move to Arizona at the end of the month.

My middle daughter is also in Utah, but may return here at the end of the summer.

Everyone else is doing quite well.

Nighthawk Introduction Sharing Member & Introductions

I am putting this here, because I want to share it with my friends. I find it very moving and wonderful. But, quite frankly, I am not at all interested in the snide remarks that are also going to come from some people.

Thank you for sharing, Nighthawk. It's very well done, and touched me -- and my son.

Introduction Nighthawk

Thanks for sharing that Nighthawk. It really touched my heart. I have a neice who has been there twice. The son of a coworker who has been sent twice and will be going a third time, and one of my closest friends is about to leave for there. She and I were in boot camp together way back in 1978 and have been friends ever since. She is still in the Marine Corps after all these years and about to ship out for Iraq.

Too often, people forget the human cost on both sides of any war. The men and women over there fighting are there because their political leaders sent them. In all the political fighting, we shouldn't forget the very real sacrifices made by them and their families.

Nighthawk Introduction

Well, I don't have to have surgery again, at least not now. The doctor seems very sure that the tendon is still attached, but that either the tendon has become longer, or that scar tissue has formed around it. He says that intense therapy and exercise will most likely help it improve.

When I had surgery on my wrist, I ended up with a similar problem. The scar itself adhered to the tendons. It was a painful process, but little by little, I was able to break the scar tissue free. If you do what your therapist says, it will work out. Problem is, most people don't do the exercises as often as they are supposed to do them.

Since I don't have to have surgery, we have decided to take off tomorrow for Utah. My wife is going to stay out there (Utah and Arizona) until after the wedding (August 12). I will come back on Friday. We are going to try to get to a family reunion in SW Wyoming this Saturday, so we will drive straight through - about 24 hours.

Anyway, I won't be able to do much with the RPG this week, but then 4 of the 6 players still aren't around.
