Introduction Nighthawk
In general, I am doing well.
I went out for the job interview, and thought it went extremely well. They commented that they never got anyone to interview who already knew gear manufacturing. Yet I understood everything about their processes, and was even familiar with the steel that they use.
In the end, they "chose not to move forward with my employment". They gave some pretty weak reasons.
I can only come up with two probable reasons.
1. They need a "token" hispanic, black, or female engineer.
2. They don't want an active Mormon working there. I had met their Quality Manager a few years ago, as his son was in our ward here. He no longer works there, and they didn't really explain why he left, and were very vague about what he was up to. I know that there aren't very many other facilities out there that make gears of any sort, and people who are in gear manufacturing are in short supply everywhere.
So, no moving for now.
We will probably try to move ourselves out there next spring, after my wife finishes school (she has 3 more classes after this semester to get her B.S.).
Anyway, we are still hanging around here. And, yes, I stop by the forum at least a couple of times each day. I just don't have anything much to say these days.
