Nighthawk, I wanted to thank you for your reply in the Baptism thread. It was so clear and your scripture backup was also excellent. Yesterday at work, another teacher and I were discussing the same issue. She is pentecostal and does not believe that Baptism is for the remission of sins or needed to enter the Kingdom of Heaven (actually I did not know Pentecostals believe such a thing). She has very strong views about it but when I asked her to explain me then the same two scriptures I shared within that thread, she just went by the branches but could not explain them at all. She basically did not acknowledge them at all. On another topic, I also think it was great your reply to Archvic, I hope everything works out peacefully between you too

How is your son in Utah doing? Is he coming home anytime soon?

My son is doing very well in Utah. He is coming home for a visit at Easter. He is seriously considering moving to Arizona, to be close to my oldest daughter. He has a hard time with my middle daughter (who is sharing an apartment with him) as she is making all the same mistakes he did, and seems to be heading towards the much worse ones that I made when I was young.

Baptism is a very difficult subject to discuss with people, just as I explained in my post. Since most modern Christians deny any sort of Priesthood authority, believing instead in an all-encompassing "authority of believers", it is no wonder that they don't believe in a necessity of baptism. They see that the baptisms that DO occur have no real effect, since they have no authority to perform any ordinances. So, they rationalize baptism to be just an outward performance to proclaim publicly an inward conversion.

I have dealt with this subject a few times before in my life. It has taken me quite a long time to understand the sources of their denial.

Not very often you haven't. Either that or the Online is lying.

I have tried a couple of times to beat my own scores on a couple of games, but I get tired of it pretty fast.

Maybe I will start up another munjpet. But then, maybe not....

Sorry about your son's leg. I suppose the saying "Boys will be boys" brings no comfort, but I guess it is in fact true - they learn the hard way.

Concerning your wife, with all this knowledge she has gained I am surprised you cannot get her to share any views here - where is your touch?

Lastly, you seem generally more positive, all working well on your end now?
