How exciting, almost reminds me of when I served a mission, and of course you are on a mission of your own. Hopefully you can find some good friends to help you locate a home.

I have noticed that you seem to have relatives all over.

Well, I've been here almost a week. Nebraska is very interesting. It is FLAT! around here. But if you drive a few miles away, you get into very hilly areas.

The work is very interesting and I will be learning a lot and applying a lot of my existing skills and knowledge.

My wife is quite stressed since she is left alone to take care of everything. The children seem to be doing okay.

Now, if I can just find a house soon, so that they can come out here, things will be much better.

Oh, the withdrawal!

I am staying in a Motel 6. They only have a wireless Internet connection.

On Saturday, I was listening to some music online, while playing Morrowind on the X-Box. Suddenly, the music cut off. I was so involved in the game, that I didn't even think about it.

A while later, I decided to see what was happening, and found that the program, iTunes, was searching for the URL. Then I discovered that, while my computer said it was connected to the wireless network, it couldn't connect to the Internet.

I talked with the manager, and she couldn't figure out anything. We tried all sorts of things. Suddenly, it worked! That lasted for about 1/2 hour, just enough time for me to send some photos to my wife.

Then, while looking through the forum, trying to respond to some topic, I lost it again. And it stayed down. Yesterday, when I went to the front desk, there was someone else there, also trying to get onto the Internet, with the exact same symptoms as me. Since both of us had Macs, we didn't know if it was specifically blocking OSX or if it was a general malaise on the part of the portal (the local telephone company).

It was miserable yesterday, not being able to get on the 'net.

When I came in at lunchtime today, it was working. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to deal with anything until this evening.

What a relief! I am back on the 'net, and the forum!

Nighthawk, I have many times read what you have to say and been impressed. I was just on Yahoo I M with Dr. Borde praising your eloquence and he suggested I tell you on this thread. I admire your clear concise thinking on politics and global affairs. Keep it up. Mousetrails
