Nighthawk Introduction - Page 55

Good news - and bad. I am back on the internet, but only because the people hadn't moved out of the house yet! So, I am back in the Motel 6 for one more night. tongue.gif

I have been thinking about setting up a board. That might come, I am not sure yet.

By the way, is the continuing Diamond membership the same cost as the Platinum? I noticed that my membership runs out in April, so I need to start planning now!

I have been thinking about setting up a board. That might come, I am not sure yet.

When you are ready just tell me by Email as what I plan to do is have a special Category for these Boards, you can then establish a Read Me file with what you wish to Discuss and it does not have to be limited to Threads that already exist, but about anything you so desire (of course not Mature content unless you want me to establish it as for those with Mature status). You see you can set up the type and content.

Yes, it is the same donation, Diamond Membership is in fact the same as Platinum, but with added features and recognition for the long contribution to the Community.

...so I need to start planning now!

If you brake it down, it is US$8 a month, so you set aside that each month and you are good to go wink.gif

Well, I am back on. Once again, at the motel, the system went down. So, I wasn't able to get onto the Internet while there, and once I got into the house yesterday, I was unable to do anything here!

What was frustrating is that I was on the forum when the system went down. I was getting ready to post something, but I can't remember what it was!

While I was unpacking my car, I saw a neighbor getting ready to throw a TV into the dumpster. I asked him about it, and he said that it had lines going across the screen. He gave it to me, and I hooked up the X-Box to it, and it works great!

So, I get into the house, and I don't have any pans or a microwave. I have a refrigerator, stove, washer, and dryer. No TV, no Internet, and I can't even get a radio station.

All I had to do was read and play X-Box.

One of the guys I work with donated a "fold up" bed, and a camp chair. I needed the bed only for one night, as I had a mattress and box spring set delivered today. Someone from church has brought a crock-pot and cast iron skillet. So I now have a way to do SOME cooking. I still need to get a saucepan.

Life goes on.

Wow Nighthawk, your post reminds me so much what my family went through every time we moved! I know is not easy, so I hope things get settle down quick. Is the Church helping at all? What you mentioned about your neighbor and his TV is something I just could not understand about the States while living there, instead of fixing it they throw it away to buy a new one. We got a couch, suitcases, stereo...all sort of different things like that. The funny thing is that there was nothing wrong with the items! Still a mystery to me. All the best. smile.gif

Introduction Nighthawk

Just my $0.02 worth... I'm reading about your transition with interest, here. Moving is so unsettling, anyway, and to start with basically nothing is doubly hard, as LDS_Forever pointed out. It's good that you have contacts through work and church to add a bit here and a bit there. So, I'm simply sending along some positive "vibes" your way smile.gif And all the best to Mrs. Nighthawk as she handles the tail end and clean up from the other side!

Nighthawk Introduction

Thanks for the kind words.

This morning, I called home, to see how everything was going. My son answered the phone, and tole me that it was a good thing that I had called, as Mummy was not doing very well.

It seems that when she bent over to make the bed this morning, she got a sudden, severe attack of vertigo. She couldn't stand up, or even sit up. Of course, this set off her anxiety, which is already pretty bad, since she is trying to handle everything by herself.

She went to the doctor, and got some medication for it, so is starting to do better. Not well yet, but better.

Other than that, everything seems to be moving along.

Of course, she still has to deal with two monster dogs now, Oberon, and the baby St. Bernard, Bel. Now she is beginning to regret getting the puppy. wink.gif

Oh, no, Vertigo!?! I'm so sorry to hear that. Some vertigo is caused by debris in the inner ear mechanism and is cured by physical therapy - essentially, positioning the upper torso in several different ways to dislodge whatever might be causing the trouble. I think I've posted the info here before, I'll run a search and update here as soon as I find it. If not, I'll track it down on the web and post a link.

Thanks to whomever deleted the multiple posts! My browser hung up on a refresh, and when I tried to clear it up, it must have reposted.

Anyway. It is probably kind of obvious that I am on a political kick this evening. I have had a couple of stimulating discussions at work, and it really got my mind going on these subjects.

Mrs. NightHawk is doing better today. She is still suffering from the stress and anxiety, but that isn't going to change until she gets here - in Nebraska.

Our oldest daughter just called me and informed me that they had an ultrasound this evening, and it will (probably) be a girl that will be born in March.

Exciting times!
