Nighthawk Introduction - Page 60
Well, how about an update.
I just got back from 4 days in Michigan. I had to attend some training there. They couldn't have chosen a worse time, but hey, when the plant manager tells me that I am going, I go.
There are a couple of reasons that it was/is a bad time. First of all, my wife and children are all out in Utah right now. My middle son - S2 - is working for his uncle, my wife's brother, renovating a house near Logan, Utah. Youngest daughter - D3 - has been out there for a month, visiting everyone (she is 11, almost 12). She is at that age when a change in the wind can cause hysterics, but overall, she has done fairly well. Youngest son - S3 - went out with my wife a week ago.
On Thursday, my wife and oldest son - S1 - picked up my oldest daughter - D1 - and our granddaughter (Petey the Pirate) from the airport. So, now everyone is there, with D1 and my wife staying with my middle daughter - D2. Everyone is together, except me.
The second reason that this is not a good time is that next week is our plant shutdown. That means that I have to be there, bright and chipper, every day, despite the fact that 95% of the plant is on vacation. So, with the forced training, along with the required attendance at shutdown, I get to miss two different family reunions happening at once!
Other than that, I really enjoy living in Nebraska. I like the work a lot, as well. It is challenging, overwhelming, interesting, and lots of fun.
Anyway, maybe I will stop by here a little more often. Tschüß!
