Nighthawk Introduction - Page 7

Well, the new job is very, very interesting. It is also going to be a little more than challenging, as I have to figure out how to make some special gears, with unusual characteristics. I also have to keep a pretty low budget. When machines cost from $500k to $1.5m, playing the budget game gets a little complicated. Since I have been making gears for the last three years, I have several things that I know I don't want to do as I set up this process, but I am getting a very quick education in what I need to do.

However, the pace is much slower than I have had to deal with for the last three years. Although I have to have my gears in full production in about three years from now, at least I don't have to spend half my time fighting "fires".

I started up a weblog, or a "blog" today. Kind of an interesting experience, and I have to work a little bit at the HTML authoring to make it work the way I want it to. It is at:
https://www.nighthawk751.blogspot.com/

It is just a place where I can express my thoughts on various subjects, and expand as I want.

Oh well, goodnight all.

I added the link to these forums this morning, just after I posted here.

I thought about using the blog here, but wanted the more "unrestrained" format available on Blogger. I tried Xanga, but couldn't set up permanent links on it.

Yes, LDS, "Unorthodox". Don't you think it fits?

Actually, I was thinking more about the actual format - lots of links to various websites, unrestrained HTML, etc.

Actually, you are probably right about content. After all, multiple posts in the same topic are kind of frowned on, right? laugh.gif

Content wise, I see good blogs as being full of thoughtful content, as the blogger writes commentary on the news of the day, his or her life, as well as philosophy, theology, and just general stuff.

Many, even most, blogs are just ramblings about the blogger's life. However, they can be excellent views into the blogger's life. My oldest son, for example, has had a Xanga site for well over two years. Through it, he has developed real friendships, developed his writing talents, and opened up to a remarkable extent.

As far as content, I hope to go into depth about how I see what is happening in the world, through the lens of my understanding of the Gospel, especially concerning the Last Days. I doubt I will get too much more controversial than I am here. wink.gif

No, those threads in the blog section allow you, and only you to post multiple times.

Well, I do have to admit you have some 'interesting' views and some of them I agree with, so I know I am or becoming? an "Unorthodox' LDS too.
Why I said this? Last sunday in Church the Relief Society was teaching from the book of President Grant. And the teacher was refering to the wives of Pres. Grant as 'first and second wife' but really that's her own words because in the lesson it didn't say anything about that. I tell ya, I was going to say 'You know? he was married to several wives' but then I restraint myself, not only because they were investigators and new members there (most of the members here are young in the Gospel) but can you imagine the looks!!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif
Yep, if the Branch Presidents calls me I will tell him it's your fault! wink.gif
