Title: Water shortage
Comments: The recent report by the newly appointed utilities minister must be some [sort] of joke or projection of how well he is doing his job. Water water every where but WASA has for reason unknown [continue] to make citizens of the poorer districts of this nation suffer from man made drought. This is nothing new. We have heard many politicians criticised WASA in the past but do nothing meaningful to stop this [organization improving] the constant supply of water to many districts and villages. All our politicians do is offer public lip service. Despite this report nothing is going to happen and citizens will again suffer from shortage of water and read the same story for years to come.Like one overseas Trinidad citizen have said he left Trinidad 22years ago and today the water shortage is still the same as it was then. There is nothing better than blowing your own trumpet to gain popularity where politicians are concerned here.
Just heard on the news that WASA will be installing meters on residential mains for metered water. This is supposed to put a cap on water wastage. Nevermind, the amount of leaks on roads they have all over the country and without some getting a constant supply I can hardly see how this will put a significant dent in water wastage. If anything they will charge more for using water. Places that use water for things like a car wash and residences with swimming pools and so forth will feel the bite.
