Cookie Introduction - Page 2

Groovy. How long? Tell me a little about your life in Trinidad.
Describe your surroundings to me. How does doing that make you feel?In the context of Trinidad, I don't understand "Economics. "
What is the difficulty? The obvious one. I lost my train of thought.
Latina is always thinking. :-)What's your take is a definate possibility. I suppose that makes sense. How about that.
Thanks for explaining about it for my life. Really you don't think so? I'm glad you find this amusing. smile.gif

Maybe they want you to meet some guy up north and stay so you can bring some blue eyed grandchildren back for them? wink.gif How is life on UWI? I know a couple of ladies studying there from Barbados. We also had a guy studying law there (called, 'Jason'), but I think he went to Barbados.

I hope not JB!...I should think they have my education and well being at heart...rather than my social life (which I don't have much of )

Life in UWI?...kind of boring...there isn't much to do..and of course..it isn't the safest place. But its not too bad...no real complaints so far. Its nice not having to deal with a drastic new environment as I would have to if I were studying abroad. I wasn't ready for a culture shock a few years ago...but I might actually be prepared for it now....I think...

So you are telling me if a handsome guy with blue eyes comes up to you and asks you out you will say, 'no!'? wink.gif As for UWI, how good is the tuition? Do the professors show up for classes? Do they teach like they want to be there or are they just hoping for the time to pass quickly? I am interested in studying psychology. I would rather do it at CUC to be honest, but the money is a lot. What is the cost per year for UWI? By the way, have any good posters like yourself that you can invite for the Trini section? I find it neglected compared with the other boards.

You never know...I just might wink.gif

As for UWI...tuition keeps increasing...I think its $12,000.00 per year now.
the professors?..well....some are really good..and others cant really teach..they just read from texts and cant explain anything. Ive seen that most of them who cant teach, earned their degrees in North America. Those who earned them in the UK though, and even in Trinidad, seem pretty well-versed in their teachings. Of course this is only what I see from the courses I take.

ive taken some psychology courses too....which are actually my favorite..since you can relate to the different syndromes and psychological behaviours. But there are also several lecturers in the psychology dept. who dont teach well...so I dunno. You may need to get more inside information on UWI and CUC lectures before you make a decision.

I wish!..but no..most people I know dont have time for forums like this..theyre too busy (doing what...I dunno!)

That is ashame about the professors. You get people like that eveywhere, but if they are only reading texts then what is the point? Thanks for your participation, all the best!

Cool to speak with you over the phone and great to know you will see us in the Church. The first part of the meeting we call 'Sacrament' meting (similar to how the Catholics have Communion) except that the members participate more. It is a lay Ministry, so no one is paid or necessarily 'professional'. The second part of the meeting is where you get to ask any questions you like in a class room with other new people. The last part is called, 'Relief Society', this is where the women gather and learn about the Gospel. We are excited to meet you.

Cookie, I just wanted to say it was great to meet you and see you in Church today. I'm sorry I was not able to be the greatest to converse with but you saw I have a pretty busy young man wink.gif

I would love to meet you again, in Church or maybe we can meet and talk and go out. What do you say?. Have a great day.
Sol
