Should Huge Bonus Earners Be Named?
This is NOT about AIG (we have a Thread about that already) specifically, I'm just throwing this questions out there - do you think in the time of economic collapse those who receive huge bonuses while a company sinks should be named so the pubic knows who they are?

I've contended for many, many years that what has ruined this country is GREED. These outrageous bonuses are CONTRACTUAL meaning people expect them when they sign on with a company! Nothing but pure GREED!
There are wealthy people who don't do this, I think we all deserve to know the names of the "midas" people in the world.

These people should not have their names released until the (possibly justified) anger dies down.
No ones financial actions should result in mob violence against them, and I fear that the country's mood is not too forgiving right now.
I am in the lower middle middle class, and I for one do not disparage any one who wants to take advantage of all opportunities that are there. Wanting more in life is not necessarily a bad thing.
I do not blame the individuals who are receiving the bonuses. They signed a contract that stated they would receive a bonus regardless of performance. On their part, it was a very smart business decision.
I just think it was a stupid business decision that led to putting in their contracts that they would get a bonus regardless of performance. It was even stupider that the Democrats (namely Senator Dod) included and required the payment of these bonuses in the Stimulus bill and then feigned ignorance when the blank hit the fan.

If the private sector can afford to give the bonus to those they deem worthy then we should not have a need to know. If how ever we are speaking of public owned companies then yes that should be posted as it is tax dollars that are paying for it and they should be held accountable to the actions, that is the givers not the receiver.
