Comments: The people of the Beetham do not want to uplift themselves of poverty, they were and are accustomed to handouts and the state cannot continue this nonsense. The police needs to get serious with these criminals and deal with them no matter what the means. We in Trinidad like too much press freedom that is why the criminals have the upper hand. Police and army deal with them with whatever force is necessary.

Two policemen were shot when they answered a call of loud explosions in Betham Gardens. TV6 is reporting this as an ambush and police say it is a reprisal for prior incidents between the police and the people there.

Will this work? I have my doubts unless they patrol or make it small posts along the highway rather than one big post in one location.
