Apex Technology plans to build a new headquarters and add up to 60 jobs in Jacksonville, the city announced Wednesday. The company provides structural engineering services for the construction industry, and the jobs would be for engineers and technicians.They would pay an average of $56,750 a year plus benefits, according to documents filed with the city, and would be filled by the end of 2019.The company would receive up to $36,000 in city money and $144,000 in state funds, according to legislation filed Wednesday. City Council has not voted on the incentive package yet.

World Of Beer Coming To Jacksonville Beach

World of Beer will be opening its second Jacksonville area location, this one at the Beaches, later this year. It?s going into the space formerly occupied by Yogaberry and Mambo?s at 311 Third St. N.The area?s first World of Beer opened just over a year ago in the Tinseltown area.Franchise co-owner Wayne Farmer said the Beaches location will be a little larger (4,000 square feet versus 3,200) and have liquor, which Tinseltown does not.It will have 50 to 60 draft beer taps and 500 beers in bottles and cans.

Waterford At Mandarin Has New Owner

A Virginia investment group has made its second major purchase in Jacksonville in the past three months. Harbor Group International paid $36.3 million for the Waterford at Mandarin, a 432-unit apartment complex on San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin.The complex was built in 1989, and Brian Moulder, who handled the sale for CBRE commercial estate brokers, said Harbor intents to spend a lot of money on it, inside and out. The company has owned various properties in Jacksonville over the years, he said.

Jacksonvilles Crowley Lands License To Transport Liquified Natural Gas

Jacksonville-based Crowley Maritime Corp. has landed a license from the U.S. Department of Energy to export liquefied natural gas.The license will allow the shipping company to transport, supply and distribute LNG into non-free trade agreement countries in Central America, South America and the Caribbean, said a news release Wednesday.The licensing development comes as the natural gas industry is taking off in North Florida and will allow Crowley to export about 14.6 billion cubic feet of liquefied natural gas. That?s about 480,000 gallons shipped per day.
