Jax Bargain Plywood closing after 35 years
Florida Business News
After 35 years, Jax Bargain Plywood is closing.
“We met with our accountant three weeks ago,” said Rachel Kern Baldwin, vice president. “Sales are still down. When you’re dumping money into it for the last years, at what point do you stop the bleeding?”
So they’re closing the stores on North Main Street and Edgewood Avenue.
They’ve already started discounting their inventory of building supplies: 40 percent off now, then it will be 60, then 80.
Baldwin said their going-out-of-business permit expires in January.
