The options for taking a bus to or from Jacksonville are growing. Seven weeks ago, Megabus started daily buses to and from Orlando and Atlanta. Wednesday, Greyhound Express announced that it was expanding service to Jacksonville with a different level of ride than its standard buses. Both Megabus and Greyhound Express offer express routes with reserved seating, free wi-fi, electrical outlets and more legroom than traditional buses.

For the first time in more than 60 years, St. Augustine is about to be without a Harley-Davidson dealership. At the end the month, Harley-Davidson of St. Augustine will quit selling motorcycles. Adamec Harley-Davidson of Jacksonville will take over the small shop on St. George Street, selling logo T-shirts and shot glasses to tourists. The big dealership just off Interstate 95 on Florida 16 out by the outlet malls will stay open another month or two, selling the last of its accessories and clothes. And then it will close.

Robert Massey, who helped build one of Florida's largest dealership chains, dies at 77

Robert Massey, who helped build one of the largest Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth dealership chains in Florida, died Monday from complications of pulmonary distress. He was 77. In the 1970s, the chain had 10 dealerships in Florida and South Georgia, including Southside Dodge, Westside Dodge, Massey Dodge, Regency Dodge and Massey-Mixon Chrysler Plymouth in Jacksonville. But Mr. Massey?s interests went far beyond cars, and he later started charter airline and commercial real estate companies.

William Marcy Mason Jr., former president of Jacksonville Federal Savings Bank, dies at age 87

William Marcy Mason Jr., who was president of Jacksonville Federal Savings Bank for 22 years until retiring in 1991, died at home Friday. He was 87. Mr. Mason started his business career in the family lumber company. After his father’s death in 1952, he became president of the expanded Liberty Mortgage Business. He was director of Jacksonville Federal for more than 40 years and headed the institution during the 1970s and ’80s.

William Marcy Mason Jr., who was president of Jacksonville Federal Savings Bank for 22 years until retiring in 1991, died at home Friday. He was 87. Former JEDC head Ron Barton hired for similar post in Hillsborough County

Former Jacksonville Economic Development Commission executive director Ron Barton will take a similar position for Hillsborough County. Barton will start work March 5 as director of economic development at a salary of $125,000, Hillsborough County announced today. Barton headed JEDC from 2005 through last September. Mayor Alvin Brown decided against keeping Barton in that post. Brown has not yet filled the position with a replacement.
