Natural Gas & Co2

Natural Gas & CO2

Does Natural Gas still have CO2 in it by the time it fuels a vehicle?

Co and Gas Natural

I don't think it's a case of the Natural gas having CO2 in it as much as the CO2 is produced when it is burned. I did find this information about it though:

QUOTE

Natural gas burns cleaner than other fossil fuels, such as oil and coal, and produces less carbon dioxide per unit energy released. For an equivalent amount of heat, burning natural gas produces about 30% less carbon dioxide than burning petroleum and about 45% less than burning coal. (from the Wikipedia entry on natural gas)

The methane (main portion of natural gas) molecule contains 4 hydrogen atoms and 1 carbon atom. When it is burned, the hydrogen atoms combine with oxygen to produce water and the carbon combines with oxygen to form CO2.
