Of death and life
The long Easter weekend which begins today, Good Friday, and which is the culmination of "Holy Week" that began on Palm Sunday will see many, if not most, Trinidadians, taking part in the traditions that have come to be associated with the occasion. Ref. Source 4
Happy Easter everybody. Today we're staying home and liming with friends and some cousins. Tomorrow we'll probably go to Maracas and relax a bit.
In Trinidad the Catholics often take to the streets with various processions and chants concerning the moments leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. For everyone else they use it as a means to get away from it all by going down the Islands, beach, and so forth. In Trinidad & Tobago when a holiday falls on a Sunday the people are given Monday off too, so you can well imagine the fun is still going on for them.
