What is your review for the TV novie, "Book of Ruth" starring Christine Lahti about the tensions that arise when a newlywed has her new husband move into the home of her oppressive mother?

I just finished watching this movie. The actors were excellent. The saddest part about the movie is that the reason the girl (Ruth) was like that was because of the constant psychological abuse by her mother, calling her retarded and criticizing every little thing she did because the mother was bitter. The movie sends a powerful message to all parents of not to live bitterly because of personal childhood/adulthood experiences, love and encourage your children at all times, letting them know they can be anything they want once they put their minds to it. It is only a small window and short is the time our kids will live with us, need to be treasured.

I am quite confident things would have changed if Ruth had a caring mother who loved her and took interest in her. So sad.
