Rehab Enter Someone To How

The best you can do is encourage your friend to seek help. If you can get them to see it as help for self and not just because you want them to do it then they may oblige. I guess focusing on the benefits of what will happen AFTER rehab will be better and all the things they can accomplish such as getting a good job, relationships, etc.

You can try the guilt angle and try to show them how much their actions are hurting others. Dont even bother trying to show them how it is hurting them, because in general, they dont really care about that and are willing to take what happens to them. Interventions can be a good way to do this, but they can also have a very negative reaction as the person will feel trapped and quite possibly betrayed by those at the intervention.

Honestly, if they actually go in rehab to just satisfy you, you might as well not bother. Until they want to change their lives, they are just going through the motions to get you off their back. Reaching bottom is pretty much the time when this happens...and that usually requires the person to have really screwed up badly with family or the law.

I have been in this situation and the best thing that we did was to show them how they are letting loved ones down continuously. It didnt work the first time, but after time...it sunk in and they realized that they were losing trust, respect and friendships.

Here is the way it usually happens... they get themselves in trouble with the law, get arrested and are forced into the program. I don't want to be pessimistic but sometimes these things just have to play themselves out because an addict will not listen to the voice of reason.

A Friend

Rehab Enter Someone To How

I'd say your friend's (I assume you are talking about a friend) individuality must be respected. Maybe, as it has been raised by other posters, it is important for him/her to go through a few traumatic experiences to make a conscious decision and positively have the will to change. I'm sure it must be painful to you, but I'd say all can do is offer support, and try to be as less judgemental as possible, pretty much letting things unfold. And if you think your relationship is being hazardous, you do have the prerogative to move towards a safe distance. It really comes down to your common sense, anyway.

Having bucked the booze myself I think every one who has never had to break a bad habit or addiction finds it hard to completely understand the grip it can have on you. I do suggest how ever to ensure you put your self in a position that the persons behaviors can not have a negative impact on you.

If you are lucky there is something dear to that person that you can constantly place in front of them so they see how they are effecting that item, person, hobby job that they hold dear. Subtly on you push is good so that the other feels they are actually making the discovery on their own. Often interventions just tick the person off and drive them into a bing. No always as each person is different.

Denial is their strongest hold out do not let you be that person that lets them live in denial. I might just kill them. Do not let them use the substance or habit around you let them know you will not let them but are willing to go do things with them if they are clean. Encourage vast water usage to help them clean out. If ddts hit stay with them through it as they are going to be real scared and if they can break that hurdle they might just get free.

I have been working on a man for 4 ears know I think he is about ready to make the last step and the first step to real recovery. He is sober two days now and can not hardly walk. He is scared of this but I just keep telling him he just has to keep praising god and eat some soup the storm will pass. I really wish he would have went to the hospital or rehab but he would just talk his way back out. It is his gift.

I think he is going to fail but if he can make a 2 day go next time he will make 3.

How To Someone Enter Rehab

To get someone to enter rehab you have to know how to talk to the person. You must confront them about their problem and talk to them in a sincere way. Don't attack them, look them in their eyes and tell them how their addiction is affecting their life. Find ways to explain the problem to them so it will sink in. For them to go to rehab they have to agree to go. If the person is underage, then their parents or a judge can have them admitted even if they don't want to go. If your friend refuses to listen to you don't give up. If you need more help talking to them call a hotline and get some information for your friend.
