He said he went to that finale mentally prepared and that's why he did not get emotional. When he was asked if his sexual orientation may have cost him the competition, he said "probably" with a laugh but quickly brushed it off saying his whole purpose of participating in Idol is to put his name out there and he did just that. I wish him well.
Adam Lambert (as it was expected) admitted for Rolling Stone Magazine that he is gay and he also said he found Kris Allen (his roommate while in Idol) very attractive and his "type". Yes, all the Idol participants knew he was gay. This is what he said about Kris:
QUOTE |
"I was like, `Oh, (bleep), they put me with the cute guy,"' Lambert says. "Distracting! He's the one guy that I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type - except that he has a wife. I mean, he's open-minded and liberal, but he's definitely 100 percent straight." |
The fact that he is gay has nothing to do with his singing. I figured he was gay long before he made the finals. I think that him coming out and saying this is no big surprise to anyone. I hope that he does well in his future singing career.
For what I heard his racy American Music Awards performance was very vulgar. Of course, he thinks it's because he is gay but I don't think so. There are some things that are just NOT necessary!
