Well, Carrie must put herself in the spotlight right? She is now suing for Religious Discrimination.

LOS ANGELES - Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean sued pageant officials Monday for libel, slander and religious discrimination, accusing them of telling her to stop mentioning God even before her controversial remarks against gay marriage. Prejean sued California pageant executive director Keith Lewis and actress and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, who served as a co-director before resigning in protest of Prejean. Prejean was fired in June by pageant officials who said she missed several scheduled appearances. Her attorney, Chuck LiMandri, said that wasn't true, and Prejean was ousted because of controversial remarks in April during the Miss USA pageant that marriage should be between a man and a woman... |
Well she is losing work I guess so she has to make money somehow and her use of religion for a discrimination suit is a payable angle to take when you're essentially unemployed. Wasn't she supposed to be in a reality series?
Well I can't believe this (the issue or this thread) is still going on and I agree for the most part, it is time for it to slip into back page news on its way to oblivion.
While I can see and agree she has the right to answer questions honestly, these pageants aren't federal programs, they can really pick whoever they want, or repeal or enact or enforce new or little-used rules and regulations as they see fit. The one judge, Perez, while abrasive and obnoxious beyond civility in his actions, has no particular legal compunction to hold his tongue, except I suppose for a libel/slander possibility.
She was really stripped of her regalia because the photos that surfaced showed she did indeed violate her contract/pageant rules, cut and dried, there's no way to fight or explain her way out of that issue. Did you do something wrong, against our rules that you agreed to when you signed up? If yes, you're disqualified - surprise.
How the photos became public, where they came from, who did it, is, sadly for Carrie, entirely irrelevant, as the issue is not how "fair" the turn of events is, but is this proof or not that she violated pageant rules, period - the pageant officials made the obvious, correct decision, based on a "textbook" case of rules violation, regardless of how this information came to them. There is nothing discriminatory or religion-related at all in the decision, it's purely policy-based and I can't see anyone even trying to actually somehow counter that, thinking it might be possible..
At the end of the day, she said something that shocked and disappointed a bunch of people, but it was honest, but it was something the pageant policies prohibit (discrimination) and therefore she lost her support and was stripped of status/disqualified partly because of that, as a protest and example of what they consider "wrong", partly because the photos clearly evidence her violation of yet more policies.
She was, really, a very, very poor candidate from the get-go, violating policies here and there, before even enterting, lying about it, having a narrow-minded view that she was surprised somehow found its way into the pageant, protesting and claiming to be "attacked" by various groups/communities, for her honesty, for her religion, etc. I can't say I really have a disagreement with anything that happened to her except that she did tell the truth which is good, but from there everything went to hell as a consequence of that.
Like if nobody noticed that she has fake breasts. Oh please. It seems like she wants to remain in the spotlight no matter what and the Miss California organizers would not leave her alone. I guess they deserve each other.
So all this time, she brings up her christian values to the table, defends her right to have cosmetic surgery on her breasts because of the kind of career she chose and now she is saying she is being "attacked" and people are trying to find things of her "past" to do so. I am not sure I agree with that. I think some folks are maybe disgusted by the double standards (I am not saying it is right for them to dig on her past) what I am saying is that maybe some folks just hate the hypocrisy displayed.
But despite the fact she made this steamy video for her then boyfriend, she says she was not having sex with anybody. It reminds me of Britney Spears for a moment.
This girl is either a pathological liar or she is delusional. First of all, you all remember she sued Miss California pageant for libel, slander and religious discrimination. Well, both parties made a deal. Yes, a deal despite the fact that she said she had a fight to carry on. Apparently, the reason she settled was because Miss California officials told her they knew about the sex video she sent to her then boyfriend. She claimed she did it when she was 17, but the boyfriend claims she sent it (along with others) when she was 20.

She went to Larry King Live and did not like at all the fact that Larry asked her why she settled, she told him he was being inappropriate! She even threaten him with leaving the show when he continued asking her the same question! Madness.

It is funny how she says she did not have sex with anyone, does it really matter? Just because she did not have full intercourse doesn't make her look any better as a christian she professes to be.
