Quite frankly, I do not see anything wrong with the way Miss California answered the question. |
On FNC a lot of people are calling in about the 'beast' Perez has been, so check the new 'beauty and beast' story this is turning out to be. Miss California, who seems to be deeply religious, says that despite the many names he is calling her she prays for him.
Miss USA California Responds To Gay Marriage (Hover)
In my opinion Miss California answered the question intelligently and with conviction. It was the questionnaire who was unintelligent. He should have asked "Should the decision of homosexual marriage be left to the states or should it be a federal issue?" if he wanted an answer about the legitimacy of States allowing homosexual marriage in opposition to the federal Defense of Marriage act.
Perez is the idiot in this argument, not Miss California.
But he asked a very imprecise question that opened it up to the persons views on the validity of Homosexual Marriage
The Question;
QUOTE |
"Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?" |
QUOTE |
.....I think that I believethat a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be between a man and a woman |

Miss California, with half a brain, I would have said: Perez, that's a great question and gay marriage is a very hot topic in our country right now. I think it's a question that each state should answer for themselves because that's our forefathers designed our government. The states rule themselves and then there are certain laws that are federal." |
Perez doesn't even believe in his own answer for HER. If so, then he should be fine with the results of Proposition 8 because it is what the state's people decided, but we all know he thinks it was wrong for Proposition 8 to have passed. You know that a PC answer like: That is good question Perez. Well since my fellow Californians just voiced an opinion on that through the passing of Proposition 8 and I am representing my state, I would have to say that each state should be allowed to choose and right now the majority of Californians are not for gay marriage" would not have been appreciated either.
No, what he really wanted to hear was "Perez, it should be left up to the person to decide, it really is none of our business who you marry". That is what he really wanted. Knowing he wasn't going to get it, putting her in a bad spot was the next best thing. Look at his history of outing people.

This guy is a sycophant. He has carved a living out of sucking the blood of others by either calling them gay, intolerant and constantly telling those who frequent his blog what stars should do, what they did wrong and in general offending at will. How on earth did he get to be a judge for this show? Why wasn't Howard Stern sitting next to him? Gosh, couldnt we have gotten Woody Allen to judge and ask questions on dating and marrying your daughter? Perhaps we could have gotten Mel Gibson to ask her if it was ok that the Jews killed Jesus while in a drunken haze? This was just more spotlight for him and that was what he wanted from the start. It had nothing to do with Miss California...she just represented the wrong state and wasn't going to give him the answer he wanted to hear.
I would love to know how many historical Miss USA pageants he has witness prior to this to be able to rank her question, since in his opinion it was the worst in history. This guy should not have been allowed to warm the seat of that judges chair. Read his website and then tell me he could be impartial with any answer to his OWN question.
If being the picture of womanhood includes the ability to dodge questions, then he is right. However, up and until now it has been about feeding the hungry, hugging trees, wanting all the children to have food, end all war, look good and possess a talent other than looking good.

It seems that the answer was pretty clear. She believes that Marriage should be between a man and a woman. Therefore she does not believe every state should follow suit. Why is this not a legitimate answer to Perez's question? |
Even the owner of the pageant knows that the question was unanswerable...
Donald Trump (foxnews):
QUOTE |
Trump defended Prejean as well, disagreeing with Perez Hilton's assertion that it was the worst answer in the history of the Miss USA pageant. "Miss California has done a wonderful job, that was her belief ... It wasn't a bad answer, that was simply her belief." Trump added that Prejean's question was "a bit unlucky," arguing that no matter how she answered the question "she was going to get killed." |

Face it, PerezHilton stole this show. He was the Queen for the Day. Congrats Perez! |
